Day Sails

Sunset on Penobscot Bay

Sunset on Penobscot Bay

We have started running day sails and sunset cruises taking 6 people maximum at a time. We have had some great trips and are meeting some wonderful people!  Even on rainy days we go out and on one particular rainy trip, we saw the most porpoises and harbor seals yet!  Here are some pictures that Zander was able to take while on a sunset cruise as we were sailing on the Penobscot Bay!

We made it!

Castine here we are!  We arrived Monday June 1 to a great northerly wind (and blue skies) allowing us to sail right into the harbor from the bay and give ourselves a little tour around the harbor – Zander filling us all in on the history of the town!  Monday evening we relaxed and celebrated our arrival… and also went to bed relatively early as we were all exhausted!  Over the last few day we have been saying farewell to our transit crew – who we can’t thank enough….. thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The last week has been spent getting ready for passengers, constructing a boarding ladder, and cleaning up after a rocking and rolling transit.  Dad and my brother Austin arrived yesterday (Monday June 8 ) night to and were able to stay for a great day of sailing today – and we got to set the spinnaker for the first time … it was awesome!!  Austin will be joining us for the whole month of June so it was a great chance for him to get familiar with the boat as it was the first time for him to be underway on Guildive.

We are all looking forward to taking passengers out soon, being able to share Guildive and showing them Castine Harbor.  Thanks again to everyone who has been following us this winter and we will continue to maintain the blog through the summer season.  Look for a new website with a link to our blog coming this week.
